Hearings are in principle public; a hearing in camera is an exception, ordered where necessary to protect public order, the privacy of persons or the interests of a child. Family matters and youth protection matters are heard in camera by law.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Example\"><\/span>Example<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In a custody dispute, the hearing before the Superior Court is held in camera.
